Describing my trip

A year ago, after I got married, my husband took me on a honeymoon to San Andrés Colombia, I had never been there, I did not know the sea, so the surprise and the experience was wonderful.

We made the trip very early in the morning, we wanted to arrive early to be able to enjoy and meet during the day. We travel by air from Bogota airport around 7 in the morning.

When we arrived at the San Andrés airport we took a taxi to the hotel that my husband had previously booked.

In San Andrés you must necessarily start with the sea, which has the magical ability to offer a variety of shades ranging from turquoise to blue without losing an iota of its clarity.

The first day we spent some time on the beach, then went to lunch and after resting we returned to bathe in the sea. In the evening we walked along the shore of the beach and went for a walk in the pink zone to see the restaurants, discos, have some beers and chat. We returned to the hotel and the next day we started our adventure.

In San Andrés there are some very specific routes to follow, we had organized our itinerary so we started our journey.
That day we went around the island, rent a van to make the stops we wanted and as long as we wanted.

The first stop we made was in the unmissable beaches by Rocky Cay, it was inevitable, the sea in all San Andres is beautiful ... but there it looked spectacular. We went to the sea, we took pictures, we did not sit down for a while and then we continued. We passed through San Luis, all the residential and native part of San Andrés, the houses were colorful and very beautiful.

Then we went to the Blow Hole, another tourist place that has no entry cost. It is simply a hole that produces jets of air and water when the sea breaks with the shore. It is rather small, but you have surrounded it with shops and places to drink cold drinks.

After this place we continue to a part of the island where the sea is much deeper, which is why underwater activities such as diving are popular. However, there is also space for activities that anyone can do, such as snorkeling.

We entered a place called West View in La Piscinita (That's the name of the sector). This place was my favorite in San Andrés, the true color of the sea and the immensity with which it looked was spectacular ... and not to mention the experience. The first thing I did was put on my mask and get ready for the first sight of fish under the sea in my life ... it was so wonderful; I was happy to see the fish swimming next to me, the colors, their sizes, to see that bottomless bottom.

Already, somewhat tired and very hungry, we went out in search of lunch. The gastronomy of the islands is also worth taking into account. It is difficult to resist traditional dishes such as conch, based on snail shell stewed in coconut oil and seasoned with aromatic herbs; or the rundown, prepared with coconut milk, fish, snail, pork, yucca, yam, banana and dumplings (rolls of wheat flour). Little dietary but delicious.

Once again we got on the cart and continued on to the viewpoint of the Island. It was spectacular to see the whole length of the Island, the color of the sea and the immensity of it.  Finally we returned the cart almost at 6:00 pm after walking all day on the road with the sea on one side.

That same day in the evening we went out to eat some of the aforementioned delights in a nice and cozy restaurant by the sea, then we went dancing to one of the clubs in the area and drank some delicious "coco loco" one of the traditional drinks on the island.

The third day we went to visit another of the wonders of this destination, the island of Johhny Cay, which allows you to walk along its beach while enjoying an exquisite sunbath. This is the perfect place to cool off with a delicious coconut lemonade, which honestly, is prepared very delicious. After finishing the tour in Johnny Cay we went to another wonderful place, to the aquarium.

With regard to the aquarium, the walk is highly recommended, you can see the sea of the seven colors in the transfer. Snorkeling with the fish passing around you is amazing.

That same day at night we took the opportunity to go downtown, to know the trade, to take a walk. The weather in San Andres is a crazy thing, it's quite hot, but out of nowhere it can start raining, which happened during our walk, so we did not buy too many things, mostly memories and we returned quickly to the hotel.

The day before traveling back home we took advantage of it to rest, relax and enjoy the sea, that day we bathed a lot in the sea, we rented a jet ski and we had a pretty fun ride; We ended the day with a quick dinner at the seashore, saying goodbye to this wonderful place with a pleasant conversation and receiving the delicious breeze of the nights in San Andres.

This was a unique experience in my life and one of the most incredible trips I've ever done.
